Dvaravati Exhibition & Symposium, Bangkok

In conjunction with the 'Dvaravati Exhibition' held at the National Museum Bangkok, I will be attending the first international sympsium 'Before Siam was Born' on Dvaravati studies here in Bangkok this week. I hope to get a broader understanding of the early history of Thailand and a defination of Davaravati. This will help me in my travels to Nakhon Pathom, the heartland of the so called Dvaravati Kingdom to understand the Dvaravati Art and Architecture I'll be photographing. Nakhon Pathom is one of Thailand's oldest religious and historical centers. I am looking forward to seeing the famous Phra Pathom Chedi. For additional information on the exhibition and symposium in English visit the National Museum Volunteers website: http://www.museumvolunteersbkk.net/html/coming_up.html

Picture perfect

As I sat here working on my computer, I just happened to glance up at the right moment to see the late afternoon sun with its warm glows casting a lovely orange hue on a multitude of nearby highrises. It was almost picture perfect.

OVERCAST DAY

Feeling so much better now now that I'm on antibotics and just about over this throat virus. You were all wonderful to check in daily to see if I needed anything. Now that I'm better I'm getting the itch to get out with my camera. Today was overcast day and looked like rain. Not a good day to headout for photo shooting. I worked on photo files most of the day. Hopefully tomorrow will be a sunny day!

Back in Bangkok

Excited at being back in Bangkok after being away for so long. Thailand tends to focus me and allows me the time to get in touch with my creative side...which is greatly needed as I've been away from for 7 months. Lots I need to catch up on!! Unfortunately, I've been back a little less than a week and haven't done much as have been laid up with a bug that must have been hiding on the plane. Thought it was a heavy dose of jet lag but eliminated that theory when I started becoming nausated, throat became raw, etc. Heading to the doctor today for a get-well pill.
